Kelsey Creek Park and Farm is another park that you must not miss out on! The Kelsey Creek Community Park in Bellevue, Washington, is home to 150 acres of forest, meadows, and marshes and includes a view of the city’s rural past. On the ridge above deep valleys on either side, two historic barns tower high. These barns, which are included in the State Heritage Barn Register, were formerly used by Twin Valley Dairy.
Kelsey Creek Farm Park has walking and jogging paths, picnic areas, a playground, marshes, open grassy spaces, streams, and woods. The Fraser Cabin is perched on a hill overlooking the park’s historic dairy barns. The Eastside Heritage Center houses drop-in programs for visitors while the city organizes several log cabin programs. Kelsey Creek Park is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and it’s ideal for going out with the family or having a picnic.
Kelsey Creek Park’s Nature Trails give you the opportunity to enjoy a wooded environment all year. Flowers blooming in the springtime provide a heady scent for those walking around the region. Summer is when birds fly among the bushes as Kelsey Creek flows by your side. When the trees in the area turn orange and crimson in autumn, it creates a spectacular display of color. Winter’s blanket can’t deter hikers; this is an excellent location to dispel winter blues.
There are even farm animals for everyone to enjoy! Kelsey’s farm animals serve as educational creatures and are utilized in classes, programs, and special events. Between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., the animals may be seen by the public at Kelsey Creek Farm! All pets, including dogs, and other pets must be kept on a leash at all times in the barnyard due to the health and well-being of the farm animals. If you wish to support them, you may do so by sponsoring them at Kelsey Creek Farm.
To apply to become a Kelsey Creek Farm Animal Sponsor, call 425-452-7688 and ask for an application. Your pet will be maintained by Kelsey Creek Farm. You may sponsor any of the following farm animals: pony, pig, sheep, goat, cow, rabbit, cat, duck, or chicken for $25 to $250 per year.
Kelsey Creek Park and Farm is dedicated to preserving the site’s natural resources, sharing its historic farm environment with the community through education, and providing free or affordable programs, activities, and events. This unique public farm is a great place to enjoy the views and support a good cause!
